Let me ask you a question : When you hear all that talk about being positive, does it seem like it’s kind of fake ? Does it appear like you’re really deluding yourself ? Like you’re lying to yourself ?
If your answer to those questions is yes, which is more than likely, I can see where you’re coming from.
I’ve always known that being a positive minded person is the way to go, but I’ve always felt a little bit disgusted by those people who always tell you to “be happy” or “be positive”. That sucks !
Why do I say that ?
It’s because telling someone to “just be happy” is like telling him to go and smoke some weed. You’re basically telling him to “escape his reality”.
People have insecurities, fears, problems and depressions. These won’t just vanish. What I’m saying is that if you tell a person to change without giving him practical instructions, it won’t work.
What does it mean to be positive ?
Being positive doesn’t mean being a wishful thinker who’s always imagining perfect scenarios. That’s just the idea you got from all those people who post stuff on social media saying “be happy” and “be positive”.
Seriously, do they really think someone’s is going to read it and be like “Yay, I’m positive”.
To me, being positive means that you’re someone who’s always looking for solutions instead of looking at the problem. Simple as that.
That’s a constructive way to live life. I mean yes, you could complain all you want but eventually you and you only can solve your problems. No one’s going to do it for you.
So,what do you choose ? Complain to feel like you’re the victim or actually take the responsibility and change the situation ?
How to be really positive ?
I talked about being practical so I’ll do just that. You want to become really positive ? Here’s a detailed guide that I wrote about this exact topic.
There’s a lot of noise about this topic, but eventually, you can only benefit from being more positive.
The difference between what I’m saying now and what you have always heard about being positive is that I’m not asking you to be happy for no reason. I’m asking you to find solutions instead of ignoring your problems.
