We all make mistakes and that’s ok, but some of them can become real obstacles in your way to success in life. Here are 7 of the worst mistakes that will hold you back from living a fulfilling life : 1. You never take any risksGo to school, then go to college, get a job at some company, save a little bit and buy a house then get married and wait for your turn to die. Sounds exciting right ? Well, I didn’t think so either. We’re always taught by our parents to choose the safest option because that’s what ‘realistic’ people do, but when you do that you erase any tiny bit of excitement and passion in your life. Your life becomes a boring routine and days pass you by just so the time comes and you start to remember that dream that you had, and you imagine how it could have been a reality if you just made a decision at the right time. If you never take any risks, then nothing of value will come to you. You have to earn it. 2. You’re too negativeYes you have problems. Yes your life isn’t really perfect. Yes you hate your job. No complaining about it 24/7 won’t solve your problems, at all. It may feel good to criticize anything and everything that comes your way, just for a while. Then you’ll start feeling like you’re trapped again. Your life isn’t like you wanted it to be but you’re feeling unable to change it, and you’ll start complaining all over again. It never ends. You can say that you’re just being ‘realistic’ or call it anything you want, but the fact is a fact, you’ll never actually get anything done with that mindset. 3. You’re Closed mindedHey look at this, I have an idea and I think we can make some money with it. No. Hey look, I think I found a way to travel for free and I know someone who’s done that before. No. Hey, why don’t we try that new sport ? It seems awesome. No. Being closed minded means you never accept any new or creative ideas. You always like to stick to the conventional ways of thinking. You don’t like to think or consider creative and innovative ideas. Big mistake ! All of the successful people you know including steve jobs, zuckerberg, elan musk and a ton of other influential people use their creativity to innovate. You’ll never become successful if you’re always rejecting new ways of thinking. Use your creativity to think big instead. 4. You Think you know it allWhich means that you’re never willing to learn since you think you already know. With that kind of mindset, you’ll always be limited by your own arrogant attitude. The problem is that you think you know when in fact it just takes a small conversation with someone who’s average in the field to make you realize how little you actually understand. Don’t be arrogant and cocky. Stay humble and learn from the ones who are better than you. No one knows everything. 5. You give up too soonYou try something, it doesn’t work the first time and you quit. You never use your willpower and you expect things to just work, and that never happens. If you want something, you have to work for it. It’s a well-known fact, those who give up never do anything. I’m sure you’ve heard it a few times, but this time it’s actually very true. You’ll never do anything worthy without having a little resistance. You have to learn to use your willpower. Don’t just quit when the first difficulty comes your way. Face it instead. 6. You play the victimYou never take full responsibility for your life. When something doesn’t work out you always have someone or something to blame instead of correcting your own mistakes. You always have tons of excuses for why you didn’t get what you wanted. You come up with all sorts of excuses to run away from the fact that you failed. That’s a terrible way to live life. It makes you unhappy, toxic and bitter all the time. Instead of making excuses, make corrections. 7. You don’t have a clear purposeIf you never bother to find what you want to do with your life then you’ll always keep feeling lost and empty inside. You need to start setting a vision for your life. That means you need to start deciding what you want your life to be like. That way you’ll know what to work for and you’ll start to have a clearer purpose and you’ll know what to do to get there. In other words, when you know the destination, it’s easier to choose the road. If you manage to stay clear from these 7 mistakes then you’ll most likely be able to achieve great success.
